WHAT TO DO WITH 10K, NO DEBT AND NO JOB TO CREATE FINANCIAL FREEDOM

“I’m lost – tell me where to go”.

That was the voice of my husband over the phone on his second day in South Africa. He had ventured off to downtown Johannesburg to sort out some admin with simple driving instructions on getting there and back. Unfortunately, he had made a wrong turn and found himself somewhere “not so salubrious” with all the “Johannesburg is dangerous” warnings raging through his head.

This was pre-GPS in car, pre-Uber and pre-google map on phone days so he had no idea where to go or what to do next… except call me, the South African who would surely be able to tell him where to go and get him to safety.

So the conversation continued…

Ann – “Where are you?”

Husband – “I don’t know but tell me where to go”

It’s very funny looking back on that exchange now, and I thought of that event when I got asked this question on The Wealth Chef Facebook page

“Ann, I have $10 000, no debt and no job. What should I do with it to create my financial freedom?”

Before you can decide what your next step is you must know where you are and where you are headed.

This means you must:

  1. Know your unique Financial Freedom number (hyperlink to Financial Freedom number blog)
  2. Know your current Net Worth and where you are on your Freedom Feast menu.

With those two vital pieces of information, you can now plan your journey. Kim had told be bits and pieces of where she is such as she had no debt and no job (which is more info than my husband gave me when he was lost) so in Kim’s case I could advise exactly what the steps would be if you were starting with $10 000, no debt and no job.

That is what this video is all about. Watch it now and you’ll see there are some steps that everyone should follow no matter where you are now and some steps unique to this situation.

As you will have discovered in the video, that vital emergency fund is ALWAYS the first step.

Do you have your emergency fund in place?

If not yet, you now know why this is such a key step and exactly how much you need in it.

With that in place you know the next step from what I advised Kim and how she should slice up the $10000 in terms of Wealth Pie to ensure her short term, medium term and long-term financial wellbeing is taken care of.

I'd love to hear from you, email me on [email protected] and tell me:

  • What is your current Financial Freedom Journey starting point?
  • Do you have an emergency fund in place?
  • What is your next step to focus on so your freedom is guaranteed?
