The 5 Wealth Killers: #2 - The “If It Isn’t Easy, It’s Not for You” Trap
If you missed Wealth Killer #1, you can find it here
There is so much confusion and misunderstanding in the personal development world around the concept of FLOW.
Let it flow,
Let it be easy.
Hell yes.
Who doesn’t want life to feel effortless and “easy”?
BUT…
Letting it BE EASY is about the inner experience of life.
Letting it be easy is about being at EASE with our circumstances.
Letting it be easy is about understanding that suffering is optional.
Letting it be easy is NOT about the doing, the actions, the work, the learning, the growth - the effort and energy we must put into creating the life we want.
Most often, this won’t be easy!
This misunderstanding of FLOW leads some personal development circles to preach the line… if it isn’t easy, it’s not for you.
That is complete BS!
That is a devastating spiritual bypass.
That is the insidious serpent keeping you stuck.
Claiming and creating the wealthy life you are meant to be living and creating your financial freedom will be uncomfortable AF - often!
Until it isn’t!
If it was already comfortable and easy, you would already have it.
That’s why where you currently are and your current reality is called your Comfort Zone.
It can also be called…
Your Familiar Suffering Zone
Your freedom, your growth, your wealthy life - it is outside of the zone you are now competent and comfortable with.
Ergo, to move to a new place, expand your capacity and competency, to create and experience a new reality means you must move out of the place you are comfortable, and you’re going to feel UNCOMFORTABLE.
And you understand it for what it is.
You're growing and learning and creating a new way of being, and you’re OK with it being hard at times … because you know by staying in the uncomfortable, it will become comfortable.
You understand uncomfortable for what it is.
Hitting the edge of the Comfort Zone and believing the BS that the process should be easy is where many people betray themselves. They give up on the life they really want and slink back to their familiar suffering.
The mafia of the mind shows up with all the reasons why you can’t do this
- Too busy
- Too old
- Too you
- Don’t have the money
- Don’t have the time…
- Didn’t really want it anyway!
All the justifications and defences.. But also all the shame and grief for the life you know you could be living - but won’t.
A WARNING
Once you know your wealthy life exists and it not only exists but it is very achievable and exists for you, if only you are prepared to choose it and walk towards it,
… you can never really go back to being comfortable in your old Comfort Familiar Suffering Zone
Ignorance can feel like bliss in the moment, but you are no longer ignorant.
You can’t pretend you haven’t seen what is available for you or the path to get there.
Uncoupling your worthiness
from the discomfort of learning.
Doing the work, when it’s awkward, unfamiliar, or downright scary, without making that mean anything about who you are.
Think of it like going to the gym.
You don’t question your value because your muscles ache after squats. You know that pain is part of the process.
But when it comes to money, investing, or taking new actions toward freedom?
We twist discomfort into self-doubt. We tell ourselves we’re doing it wrong or worse, that it’s “not meant for us.”
đź’ˇ The Real Meaning of “Let It Be Easy”
“Let it be easy” is not about avoiding challenges.
It’s about approaching your growth without resistance.
It’s about releasing the internal fight, the tightness, the “this shouldn’t be happening” story, and allowing yourself to expand with compassion.
Discomfort doesn’t mean it’s wrong.
It means you’re building new muscles.
And soon, those new actions become your new normal, and you discover you are in a new Comfort Zone.

So when you notice yourself backing off, when you're about to click that join button but you pull away, when the spreadsheet overwhelms you, or your investing feels scary, pause and ask:
“What if this isn’t a stop sign?
What if this is my next level knocking?”
Here’s the paradox:
You don’t get wealth after it becomes easy.
You get wealth by moving through what feels hard until it becomes easy.
